How much should I pay for a tutor??

Updated: Oct 23, 2021

In these tough times, every penny counts. But remember, your education and qualifications will repay any investment made now many times over!

But let's have a look at things at an hourly rate...

  1. ONE ON ONE HOME TUTOR

  2. You can pay anywhere from $30 to $100 per hour depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications

  3. Remember they don't charge for travel to and from the place of tuition, and, they don't charge for preparation and marking of your work....so...you could effectively halve this hourly rate!

  4. Some organisations ask for a Recruitment Fee, which is fair, given that this may involve staff contacting up to 12 tutors to get the right match for you...this takes time and effort...

  5. REAL HOURLY RATE = $15 - $50 per hour!

2. ONLINE TUITION

  1. AEC offers a 5 week online tuition program for $149

  2. These sessions accommodate individual requests and are brilliant at explaining concepts and consolidating key topics and content for you.

  3. So for 5 weeks at 1.5 hours a night this comes to:

  4. $19 PER HOUR WHICH IS EXCEPTIONAL VALUE!

  5. Some providers offer ongoing email support and/or membership discount on future programs, so...

  6. REAL HOURLY RATE = $10 - $15 per hour!

3. HOLIDAY SEMINARS

  1. AEC offers these 4 times a year.

  2. Best to get the amazing Early Bird Offer...usually around $199 per subject!

  3. These programs are legendary and are able to very efficiently summarise a whole term or multiple term's content in 9 - 15 hours!

  4. AEC's courses also provide a complimentary Revision Guide.

  5. So for a 9 hour program this equates to....

  6. REAL HOURLY RATE = $16 per hour!

We hope this helps you out.
