Topic 1: The Fundamentals of Human Nutrition: Identify the functions of macro nutrients: Carbohydrates, Lipids and Proteins. Calculate the distribution of macronutrients and compare to national recommendations.
Topic 2: Diet, Lifestyle and Health: Contemporary disorders related to over and under nutrition. Identify various risk factors and how symptoms can be managed and reversed through diet and lifestyle.
Topic 3: Food Selection and Dietary Evaluation: Identify physiological, psychological, economic and social factors that influence food selection.
