12 General Maths

General Maths is a combination of the old Maths Methods and Maths Applications.
The subject consists of 6 topics of which 3 are compulsory and externally examined. 
All students must study the following Topics and Subtopics:

ALL STUDENTS MUST STUDY TOPICS 1, 3,4 AND 5.

Day 1. Topic 1: Modelling with Linear Relationships

Subtopic 1.1: Simultaneous Linear Equations
Subtopic 1.2: Linear Programming

Day 2. Topic 2: Modelling with Matrices

Subtopic 2.1: Application of Matrices to Network Problems
Subtopic 2.2: Application of Matrices to Transition Problems

Day 3. Topic 3: Statistical Models/ Topic 4: Financial Models

Subtopic 3.1: Bivariate Statistics
Subtopic 3.2: The Normal Distribution
Subtopic 4.1: Models for Saving
Subtopic 4.2: Models for Borrowing

Students are requested to bring their Graphics Calculator.

Seminar Leader: Mr Craig Smith B App Sc (Mathematical and Computer Modelling) Grad Dip Ed. 
Craig is a highly recommended Maths Applications teacher who has been teaching for 9 years. 
Craig has been involved in the SACE Maths Applications Moderation process for the last 3 years and has assisted many of his students to excellent results.

PLEASE BRING YOUR GRAPHICS CALCULATOR TO ALL SESSIONS
